I’m glad you’re considering it. Let me explain more from a marketer’s perspective why this feature is so key. The whole point of this tool is to broaden my reach from a marketing perspective. I am sure that’s true of most users.
If I am sharing my own material but have no visibility on how or where it’s being consumed, its usefulness is limited for me. The ego boost of knowing it was shared a certain number of times is great but it’s not enough. In lieu of metrics to understand how it performed on others’ platforms, being able to see the post is the next best thing. This would give me insight as who my material appeals to and what topics are most successful.
This is no different from other social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook where you have the capability to see who has shared your post. I understand the consideration of the sharer’s privacy but I think the author also has a right to know what is being done with their work similar to what happens on other platforms. I hope you do decide to move forward with it.
